Hello all, I am trying to remember the title to this young readers book. It's been around a LONG time and I simply can't remember the title or author.
If I remember correctly, this book centered around a young boy, I can't remember if he didn't talk. I remember the Father had gone missing and was never found. The boy is in a field, ontop of a big rock where he goes often to star gaze. His sister tends to look after him. I want to say that a unicorn appears to him and speaks with him but I could be wrong. Him and his sister end up traveling to a bunch of different worlds. One was all snow and there were beings there sort of like yetis, they were good, and helped the brother and sister when they were in peril. There is a place towards the end of the book where they are on a planet like earth but there's something wrong. All the kids are outside, jump roping, dribbling a ball, they are all dressed the same I think too. There is a big computer or something that controls everyone and watches them. I know this is a terrible desicription.. the last world is where the kids realize they are there to save their father...This was classic reading from a long time ago.. I think it was actually required reading once upon a time. sorry I cant give more
